Le Privy Council rend ce lundi 25 février son jugement sur l’appel interjeté par le DPP concernant l’acquittement de Pravind Jugnauth dans l’affaire MedPoint.
Une question a notamment intéressé le Conseil Privé de la Reine : « What is the correct interpretation of section 13(2) and (3) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 2002, which creates an offence where a public official takes part in the proceedings of a public body relating to a decision in which they or their relative has a personal interest? »
Pour rappel, le leader du MSM avait été condamné à un an de prison par le Cour intermédiaire sous la PoCA en 2015, avant que ce jugement ne soit renversé en 2016 par la Cour suprême. L’affaire a par la suite été portée devant le Privy Council par le DPP.
